Getting Started

What is Showstream?

Showstream is a subscription platform where your favourite creators share exclusive content you won't find anywhere else. Each creator runs their own channel with membership tiers, so you get direct access to the people and content you care about most.

How do I create an account?

To get started, visit a creator's channel page and choose the membership tier you'd like to join. You'll enter your email address and complete payment. There's no password to remember. Every time you log in, we send a secure magic link to your email, and one click gets you straight in.

Do I need to download an app?

No. Showstream works in your browser on any device, including phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops. We support Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge. You can also cast to your TV using Chrome or AirPlay. There's no app to install.

Can I subscribe to more than one creator?

Absolutely. You can subscribe to as many creators as you like, each with its own membership tier and billing cycle. All of your subscriptions are managed from a single Showstream account using the same email address.


Subscriptions and Billing

What membership tiers are available?

Each creator offers their own tiers, which typically include a standard membership and a premium tier with additional perks and content. Some creators may also offer free content that you can access without subscribing. You'll see the available tiers and pricing on the creator's channel page.

How does billing work?

When you subscribe, you're charged immediately for your first billing period. Your subscription then renews automatically at the same interval (monthly or annual) unless you cancel. All prices include applicable VAT. Stripe processes all payments securely, and Showstream never sees or stores your full card details.

Can I switch between monthly and annual billing?

Yes. Annual plans are available for most tiers and typically offer a saving compared to paying monthly. You can switch between billing frequencies from your account settings. Changes take effect at your next renewal.

How do I update my payment method?

You can update your card details at any time through your member portal. If a payment fails, we'll send you an email with a direct link to update your payment method. We may retry the payment automatically, but if the issue isn't resolved, your access may be paused until payment is successful.

What happens if my payment fails?

We'll email you right away with a link to update your card. Showstream may retry the charge, but if the payment continues to fail, your subscription may be paused or cancelled. You won't lose your account, and you can resubscribe at any time once the payment issue is sorted.


Managing Your Subscription

How do I upgrade my membership tier?

You can upgrade to a higher tier at any time from your account settings. When you upgrade mid-cycle, you'll be charged a pro-rated amount for the remainder of your current billing period, and you'll get immediate access to the upgraded tier's content.

How do I downgrade my membership tier?

You can downgrade from your account settings. The change is scheduled for your next renewal date, so you'll keep access to your current tier's content until the end of your billing period. No additional charges apply.

How do I cancel my subscription?

You can cancel at any time from your account settings, or by emailing support@showstream.studio. When you cancel, your access continues until the end of your current billing period. You won't be charged again. After your access expires, you'll receive a confirmation email.

Will I get a refund if I cancel?

If you cancel within 14 days of first subscribing to a Creator Site, you are entitled to a full refund of the amount you paid for that subscription. This is your statutory cooling-off right under UK and EU consumer law. You can cancel from your account settings or by emailing support@showstream.studio.

After the initial 14-day window, cancellation stops future renewals but does not automatically trigger a refund. You keep access for the time you have already paid for. Outside the 14-day window, refunds are considered on a case-by-case basis and are more likely to be approved where you were charged in error, there was a sustained platform issue, or the content was materially not as described.

Note: the 14-day window applies only to your first subscription to a given Creator Site. Monthly renewals do not restart it.


Content and Access

What kind of content will I find on Showstream?

That depends on the creator! Showstream channels feature exclusive video content ranging from short clips to full-length episodes. Creators may also share announcements, behind-the-scenes material, and other membership perks. The content on Showstream is exclusive and not available on other platforms.

Can I access content from a higher tier than mine?

No. Content is gated by membership tier. If you're on a standard tier and try to access premium content, you'll see an option to upgrade. Once you upgrade, you'll have immediate access to all content in both tiers.

Can I download or share content?

No. All content on Showstream is for personal viewing only within the platform. Downloading, screen-recording, redistributing, or sharing your login credentials is not permitted. Content is protected by secure, time-limited streaming links.

Does the video quality adjust to my connection speed?

Yes. Showstream uses adaptive streaming, so the video quality adjusts automatically based on your internet connection. If your connection dips, the quality will lower to keep playback smooth. When your connection improves, quality goes back up.

What if a video won't play or is buffering?

Try refreshing the page first. If you've had a tab open for a while, the secure streaming link may have expired, but a refresh will sort that out. If the problem persists, check your internet connection and try a different browser. Still stuck? Email us at support@showstream.studio.


When a Creator Closes Their Channel

What happens if a creator I subscribe to leaves Showstream?

If a creator decides to close their channel, here's what happens. First, no new memberships are accepted from the date the closure is announced. Your existing subscription stays active, and you'll keep access to the channel's content until your current billing period ends (up to a maximum of three months from the closure date). You won't be charged again after the closure is announced.

Will I get a refund?

If your subscription extends beyond the channel's closing date, you'll receive a pro-rated refund for the unused portion. This is processed automatically to your original payment method.

How will I know if a creator is closing their channel?

We'll email you as soon as a creator begins the closure process, and again seven days before the channel is permanently archived. Both emails will explain what to expect and confirm the dates.


Account and Privacy

How do I manage or close my account?

You can view and manage all of your subscriptions, update your payment details, and adjust your account settings from the member portal. To access it, log in with your magic link and navigate to your account settings. If you'd like to close your account entirely, you can do so from your settings or by emailing support@showstream.studio. Any active subscriptions will be cancelled, and you'll receive a confirmation email. For data-related requests (access or deletion), email support@showstream.studio.

Is my payment information secure?

Yes. All payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant payment provider. Showstream never sees, stores, or has access to your full card details.

How does Showstream handle my personal data?

We take your privacy seriously. Showstream processes your data in accordance with UK GDPR and EU GDPR. Your information is used to provide the service, process payments, and send you relevant notifications. Creators you subscribe to may receive limited information (such as your name and email) to help them engage with their community. Full details are in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
